Our project builds on previous work of the CoastAdapt project which investigated adaptation strategies and tools to enable people living in the Outer Hebrides and beyond to meet challenges relating to climate change, and interfaces to the goals of the Scottish Island Federation in furthering the sustainability of Scotland’s island communities. Our research is carried out as part of a PhD project at the University of Dundee and supported by a Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society (SAGES) studentship. The project is led by a team of researchers from the University of Dundee, Liverpool John Moores University, and the University of the West of Scotland, in consultation with a number of regional and national organisations and stakeholders to develop and execute an integrated climate change assessment in Scottish island communities.
